What promises to be an epic story of a group of hippy radicals from May 1968 to the present, gradually unwinds into a long, long soap opera.


Laetitia Casta plays Catherine, the beautiful and charismatic leader of a group of Paris students galvanised by les événements; they start a hippy commune in rural France but the utopia is soon under strain.


Catherine's son, who grows up to be a gay man with HIV, inherits her ­protest spirit in the 80s, but ­Catherine's daughter resents her for never being around.



The ageing 60s-lefty generation are shown in agony as they have to vote for Chirac to keep out Le Pen, and then feel furiously impotent as Sarkozy blames their crowd for all France's woes.


An oddly whingeing, defeatist tale, too preoccupied with self-dramatising self-pity to mention liberal France's one real triumph: coolly keeping their heads and keeping out of Iraq, while panicky-loyal Brits followed George Bush into battle.

Face is part of the Visions lineup at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.

The pictures and trailer have a very dreamlike/surreal feel, which, if done well, can be really great.

Face Synopsis: The story borders on the surreal: a Taiwanese director (Lee, who has starred in all of Tsai's films and is a filmmaker himself) is making a movie based on the story of Salomé at the Louvre, with a supermodel (Laetitia Casta) cast as Salomé opposite a weathered veteran actor as King Herod (Jean-Pierre Léaud as himself). Tsai's superb cast, rounded off by a number of iconic French faces, including Fanny Ardant, Jeanne Moreau and Mathieu Amalric, deliver seamless performances that blur the line between their parts in Tsai's own film and the production being shot by his alter ego.






This confounding of roles is best exemplified during the film's meticulously choreographed final dance sequence. Whereas the preceding musical numbers showcased the supermodel lip-synching poppy Mandarin and Spanish love songs, the final dance is performed without a single word sung or note of music played. This scene, which takes place outside Lee's character's film shoot within a film, is surely the most erotically charged, the one most faithful to the original myth of Salomé.

Paris Hilton Launches Sunglasses Line in Vegas

Launching her new Sunglasses and Swimwear Collection, Paris Hilton strutted her stuff last night (October 2) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The 28-year-old heiress looked beautiful as she worked the catwalk alongside the other slender, beautiful models.
In the crowd supporting his woman, Doug Reinhardt was there happily posing for pictures and giving interviews after the show.
Of her new line, Paris told the Las Vegas Sun, “It’s very exciting, I’ve always loved wearing sunglasses MySpace

Pamela Anderson in Million-Dollar Debt

“She remodels her home in Malibu, then turns around and doesn’t want to pay somebody. It’s ridiculous! Everyone did their job and expected to be paid, but it hasn’t happened,” Mini-Haulers president Jim Brown told Star. “I have a relatives, and putting a food on the desk isn’t easy in this economy.”

Mini-Haulers and Bruder Construction Homes are reportedly among the unpaid contractors, and their fees make up most of her alleged debt. Both Anderson and the contractors have commented on the matter, but naturally, their accounts don’t line up.

Anderson recently issued a statement about the debt, admitting the tax liens and adding that other tax disputes would soon be settled. They also admitted that they was touched by a number of the public concern that’s come her way.

“It is true that I'm in a dispute with a number of the contractors working on my home,” they said. “This is because after paying millions of dollars to build the house I continue to get bills from the contractors. My lawyers are reviewing the work done to see if the bills are fair. If they are, they’ll be paid. If they aren’t, they won’t be.”

“I have no dermatologist and no cosmetic surgeon,” they has reportedly said. “Nothing’s been shot in to this face.”

It also appears she’s saved some money on definite forms of plastic surgery, such as Botox, since the 42-year-old beachstress claims to have never had any.

“I don’t think I’m going to tweak anything,” they said. “I’m kind of done with it all. I want to see what I look like when I’m elderly. I’m curious where that’s going to take me.”

Also, despite copious rounds of breast augmentation, Anderson has said they has no battle designs against the aging department.

Kim Kardashian revisits sexy tape clip in Cosmo 'I was devestated'

As the November cover girl for Cosmopolitan magazine's "Bad Girl Issue", Kim Kardashian dishes on who she really is - Including the Kim Kardashian behind the sex tape scandel.

When asked about her video rendezvous with R.Jay, Kim responded frankly saying the incident was hard but she found a way to flip it positive.

"I was devastated," the E! reality TV star said.

"But when something negative happens, I pick myself up and move on, and I don't make the same mistake twice."

Trying to convert from the rep of a sex symbol to one of an entrepreneurial, anything-but-spoiled businesswoman, the 28-year-old Kardashian sis said she wishes people would stop thinking of her as a "spoiled rich girl".

Giving herself a new image in business is her new mission since giving herself a new self-proclaimed middle name- Kim "Ambitious" Kardashian.

In fact, Kim is so focused on her work, she's putting dating on the backburner.

 I've learned what I'd need to do to balance a career and family," she told the mag.
